Rear Wing Spars
Work has started on the rear spars. I have found that having the plans directly in
front of me at the work table saves a lot of time and enables me to readily re-check
all measurments. I started with the left rear spar.
With the spar channel clamped to the table layout was completed
and checked against the plan set. The hole was drilled with a hole
saw and enlarged to conform by use of a Dremel and special
router bit I purchased to complete cut outs like this.
After 6 hours the left rear spar is ready to be drilled for rivets,
de-bured polished and then riveted and bolted together. Work
will then begin on the right rear spar.
Note the difference between the right and
left spars. This is where attention to the
plans is critical.
The completed set at right. Now on to
the Flaps and Ailerons.
