Waiex 023 Arrives
This arrival marks the start of  the Waiex Journey.  Waiex #23 arrived on January 28 th at 4:11 PM.
Inspection of all packages and the pallet revealed no signs of damage. The pallet weighs in at an even
761 pounds and contained 10 boxes. Unloading was accomplished by Myself, George Gaunt,
Challenger II pilot, Sonex pilot and builder Bob Adams Sonex #71, Chuck Dorff  builder Sonex #35,
and my wife Anna taking the photos.
The sonex kit
The first piece is unloaded by Chuck Dorff (left), Sonex 82 builder  and George
Gaunt challenger II pilot. This long tube contains the Spar Caps.
Sure doesn't look like an airplane to me. Its hard to beleive that these boxes
contain what someday will be a Waiex.
This one contains the tail skins for the Waiex. As you can tell by my big smile
this is a very special day.
The base of the shipping pallet is the heaviest of all . It contains  all the skins and
many pre-cut parts. It was easy though for the four of us to unload and position
in the garage for inventory. I would recommend at least three persons be on
hand to unload and position the boxes. Many thanks to Bob Adams, Chuck Dorff
and George Gaunt for all their help.
With the top of the pallett box removed its obvious that this is a Waiex Kit as the
"y" tail spar pieces indicate. After looking through all the boxes, it is now time to
start the inventory.
Inventory was completed by late Sunday. Some key parts were back ordered. Contact was made
with Sonex and Jeremy stated that the  parts should be shipped within the next couple of weeks. If
that works out the parts I need for the wings (wing ribs) should arrive just as I need them.
